Atelier Playa Mujeres Recap

Atelier Playa Mujeres Resort Recap

Some our most popular requests from clients are all-inclusive resorts, specifically in Mexico. Honestly, we get it. A quick flight to Cancun for a week of unlimited sun, cocktails, entertainment - all while being pampered in a luxurious environment. For a lot of our clients, these vacations are the perfect way to slip off with friends and family for a much needed recharge. The best part - you pay one price and all of your meals and cocktails (did we mention unlimited drinks) are included. It’s truly a win-win for everyone.

While we get so many requests for the best all-inclusive resorts in Mexico & the Caribbean, we are extremely selective with where we send our clients. Basically, if we wouldn’t go, we won’t send you there. We pride ourselves on hand selecting 4-5 star resorts that have been thoroughly vetted by our team of travel experts. Trust us here, what you see online isn’t always the experience you will get in person. Rely on the TH Travel team to help choose the perfect all-inclusive resort that fits your travel needs and budget.

With that being said, one of our favorite all-inclusive resorts in Mexico is Atelier Playa Mujeres. Our very own luxury travel advisor, Amanda Cotton, recently stayed at this stunning resort and she is spilling all of the details below!

Atelier Playa Mujeres

Resort: Atelier Playa Mujeres (All Inclusive, Adults Only)

Location: Playa Mujeres (~35 min. from Cancun, Mexico airport)

Size: 593 Suites

Vibe: Modern Mexican Luxury (Emphasis on Mexican art & design)

Room Category: We opted for the Junior Suite King Room. This room was plenty big for two guests and we had a tropical view. (Atelier does offer ‘Inspira’ suites which are club level suites that come with more amenities for these club-level guests.)

Food & Drink

Recommended Cocktails: I LOVED the passion fruit mojito or the regular mojito. My husband enjoyed old fashioneds from the outdoor mixology bar.

On Property Restaurants: All restaurants on property are available to all guests except Maria Doleres by Edgar Nunez which is an additional cost for non-Inspira guests. The food was overall incredible! The resort operates by reservations that can be made on their kiosk for 3 days at a time. Our favorite was by far called Takeshi. Asian dishes from pad Thai to sushi & spring rolls to fried ice cream.

Another favorite was the Italian restaurant on property called Cilento. Ask for them to make the parmesan pasta where they toss your pasta in the parmesan wheel table side. You will be transported to Italy instantly!

Room Service: The room service experience was great! The pizza was the perfect night cap and can be ordered directly from your app, calling in, or using the touch screen phone in your room.

Pool & Beach Experience

Resort Pools: The main pool at this resort is massive with tons of chairs! You will find a complimentary beach bag in your room for you to use throughout the resort and I recommend using this to reserve with your pool chairs on the way to breakfast with your towel each morning. If you splurge on an Inspira room, you will have concierge service to help with reserving cabanas/chairs at the beach and pool. You will also have access to an additional rooftop pool & bar with a club-level room.

Resort Beach: The beach was beautiful and had tons of chairs available for guests plus two beach bars. You can even see Isla Mujeres across the ocean. Truly stunning!

Resort Activities

Spa Experience: The spa on property is called NUUP Spa and was one of our favorite experiences during this trip. We absolutely loved it! I got a deep tissue massive which was lovely but what stood out the most was the complimentary hydrotherapy that came with the massage. It started in a eucalyptus steam room with an exfoliating scrub. Then, you pulled a bucket of cold water to plunge in before going into a pressurized shower. Then, into the sauna with cucumbers on my eyes. Finally, a full cold plunge in a pool. It was perfect!

Golf: Atelier offers an on-property golf course, however, we didn’t take advantage of this experience. The course is located on both sides of the resort. If you do take advantage, I recommend stopping in the middle of your golf game and grabbing a daquiri or frozen margarita at the one of the resort bars to cool off.

Overall Experience: This is the perfect property for relaxing, eating, and enjoying custom cocktails & drinks. I would recommend this resort for small groups or couples. This resort has a chill vibe and not necessarily a ‘party’ resort if you are wanting to travel with a large group for that type of experience. The resort is mainly open air in the hallways so I recommend traveling in March. If you travel in July or August, be prepared for the hot Mexican sun. Don’t worry - that’s why swim up bars exist!

If you are considering a trip down to Mexico this summer or maybe you’ve heard about Atelier and have been wanting an inside look at the property, let this be your sign. The TH Travel design team will work hand-in-hand with you to plan the perfect room category, time of year to travel, and help reserve flights and private transfers to/from the resort. The only thing you need to worry about is what cocktail you are drinking poolside.

If you are sold on Atelier (or maybe you want to learn more about some of our other favorite all-inclusive resorts) reach out to us today so we can start planning.
