Our Unforgettable Stay at Ngala Tented Camp

I'm still buzzing from all the wildlife encounters! If you're dreaming of an African adventure that combines luxury with authentic bush experiences, let me tell you why this place needs to be on your bucket list. The camp sits in the exclusive Ngala Private Game Reserve, which has special traversing rights across massive acres of wilderness. Translation? We got incredibly close to animals without twenty other safari vehicles crowding around!

The Tent Life (But Make It Luxe)

Forget everything you think you know about "camping." Inside was pure comfort – air conditioning for those hot afternoons, electric blankets for chilly nights, and the most amazing outdoor bathroom with tub plus shower where I could literally wash while watching for wildlife. If you know me, that is my love language so they had me at the bathroom.

There are only nine tents at the camp, which made the whole experience feel super exclusive and peaceful. I loved the feeling of being immersed in the middle of the bush but also nothing lacking and rustic luxury. If I had to choose, this would be my favorite stay.

Wildlife That Will Blow Your Mind

The game drives were EVERYTHING. Our &BEYOND ranger and tracker team had eyes like hawks – spotting a camouflaged leopard from what seemed like a mile away! We got so close to the Big Five that I had to keep reminding myself that this was real.

Our first evening, our guide took us off-road to follow a pack of wild dogs. It was exhilarating and action packed. So unexpected!

Surprise in the Bush

That same evening, we returned from our game drive to find the staff had arranged a surprise: a magical dinner set up in the middle of the bush! They'd created this incredible outdoor dining room with white linen tablecloths, glowing lanterns, and a full setup that looked like it belonged in a fancy restaurant, not the middle of the wilderness!

We enjoyed a multi-course meal under the stars while listening to the sounds of the night. The staff had thought of everything. This moment will be engraved in my memory forever.
