London TREK Part Two

The second half of the trip was just as amazing as the first half. We discovered more history today. We visited the Tower of London. The crown jewels….wow….just wow. Pictures can’t be taken but they wouldn’t do them justice anyway. OhMy word! The opulence. The gold. The fringe. They really know how to do glamour right! I was in awe at every turn. And then to think that people live here on a daily basis. I can’t imagine what that must be like? Do they order doordash and give them the “Tower of London” as your address? I just can’t even….

From there we had lunch at another pub, of course, and went to what I would vote as my favorite part of the trip. We had a private after hours, behind the glass tour of Churchill War Rooms. Ya’ll…. I cannot tell you the amount of times I got chill bumps to think that these are not replicas, these are the real chair, real bed, real desk that Winston Churchill used.

It was absolutely a surreal moment. You can bet any TH client that gets sent to London from this point on, will have this tour included. No questions asked!

Leisure Day

The next day was a day of leisure. We filled it with museum tours, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and an impromptu last minute trip to Richmond to visit the home of Ted Lasso. I was “fan - girling” the whole time and looking up property value to see how quickly we could make a move here. I am in love with this village. Like for real in love! We strolled the streets, had a beer in the famous pub and then headed back for dinner and shopping at King’s Cross.

Food & Cocktails

The last day was all about the food and cocktails. We took a food tour of Borough Market and learned that I actually do like most of England’s food but I’ll never, ever be convinced that warm beer is good. Blech! Not a fan! We left stuffed and ready to shop at the world famous Harrod’s. Wow…that was quite overwhelming but lots of fun. We ended the night with a visit to Soho and an amazing finale dinner with the crew.
